With career and college prep, your student can prepare for their future. Available to grades 6–12, this program gives students the opportunity to explore their interests in a specific industry, college major, or career goal.
What is career and college prep?
Career and college prep is an innovative online program that combines traditional academics with industry-relevant, career-focused courses—giving students a jump start on their college and career goals.
While working toward their high school diplomas, students can choose from a variety of courses in several high-demand, fast-growing career fields. Teachers provide online instruction tailored to each student’s needs.
Career and college prep brings students career-oriented clubs and various resources that can help them gain workplace skills and prepare them to take industry-recognized certification exams in their chosen career path.*

Career Coaches
High school students participating in career and college prep have exclusive access to career coaches who meet with students virtually on a regular basis to offer advice and assistance with creating résumés, networking, interviewing, financial aid, college preparation, internships, and more—all with no additional cost.
Our career coaches also host live, interactive webinars that aim to better prepare students for their futures with expert insight and advice on college and career preparation. These events are open to all high school students.
Full-Time Option for K12 Private Academy Students
Full-time K12 Private Academy students in grades 6–12 can start thinking about their future with our career exploration courses. As the students enter high school, they can continue their focus with more targeted classes. Students receive instruction that follows a project-based learning model, setting them up to solve real-life problems in a collaborative environment.
Flexible Option Allows Students to Participate Without Leaving Their Local High School
K12 Private Academy also offers part-time enrollment in our career pathways as a complement to your student’s local high school education. Students can remain enrolled in their own school while taking career-focused courses online at home or anywhere they have an internet connection. Plus, they have access to the career and college prep learning support services including internships, networking opportunities, and career-oriented clubs.
Whether they’re headed for college, the professional world, or both, students can gain practical skills and prepare for industry-relevant certification exams, all while working toward their high school diploma in their current school district.
